Chapter 1 Tuesday 10/3/06

1 A. Another problem in this story is that tao has a diformed foot.
1 B. Also Volt is furious at tao.
1 C. Also the clan might starve.

2 A. I think that Tao will solve his foot problem by getting crutches
2 B. I think that Volt will stop being furious at Tao by that Tao gets tons of food for the whole clan and gets another rabbit.
2 C. I think that the clan will stop strarving if Tao brings back tons of food.
Chapter 2
The 2 important events that happen in this story is that:
1 .Tao finds out why the wolf isn't eating and thats because the wolf had a sharp bone stuck in his teeth and Tao pulled it out but, the poor wolf started to bleed a lot.
2. The other important event is that Tao goes into the slough, a very creepy place, and Tao heard a scary scream that made him very scared.
Chapter 3
1. They learn to hunt together.
2. Tao tells Volt that he shall hunt with ram only.
3. I am very furios at Tao for losing the first rabbit. But, it is a good thing that he caught another rabbit and they were even freshly killed. But then I got mad at him again for refusing to hunt with the other hunters. Instead he would rather go hunt with that wolf of his. So, I told him why he does't just go and live with the mountain people. Since they are the ones who hunt with wolves. But, he didn't so I just left.
Chapter 8 10/12/06
1. The situation that I imagened is the african american thing. Where this african american woman walk's onto a bus and sit's down but the white people don't want her to sit there. They want her to sit in the back where she supposedly belonged. But, she ignores them.
2. I think that she should stay there and not move because she has the right to stay there.
Chapter 9 10/16/06
1. I think that Graybeard changed his mind because he felt sorry for Tao.
2. What this tells you about graybeards character is that he is nice

The Silk Road
Cultural Exchanges Along The Silk Road
Did you ever hear about the Silk Road? Well, it was a very important Trading Route for China. I’ll tell you about traveling the Silk Road, the new skills learned etc.
First, traveling the Silk Road. Foreign rulers were willing to pay high to get colored silk from China. Getting silk to the west took many months it was difficult travel across China. The high price paid made worthwhile for merchants who risked journey.
Also there were new skills learned. Rome and China not only learned skills from each other. They learned how to make items themselves. By 500 C.E. learned how to make glass. At the same time the west learned how to produce Silk. The Silk Road helped Buddhism spread. Buddhism on the Silk Road made some people change their religion. Buddhism was introduced to China in the first century. It became the major religion in China. Some Chinese Buddhists to India to learn ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬more about there new religion. They returned to China with sacred buddah texts. They didn’t always just trade goods but also religion, Well not really traded but shared religion or culture, as told by the previous paragraph.
The items traded were diets, gardening, and agriculture as new plants were introduced as new plants were introduced to different areas. China imported new plants, spices, grapes, alfalfa, cucumbers, figs, pomegranates, walnuts, chives, sesame, and coriander. The west imported roses, azaleas, chrysanthemums, peonies, camellias, oranges, peaches, and pears. Other things traded on the Silk Road were silk cloth, grain, porcelain, rhubarb, herbal medicines, herds of horses, Bactrian camels, fruit, jade, metalwork, glass, musical instruments, carpets, cotton cloth, pearls, bolts of silk, and ships. The main Item traded was silk [obviously]. Silk is a fiber used to make cloth. The cloth comes from the cocoon of a silk worm. Silk cloth was very fine. It is a very strong. It is also warm. It is also very light. Also soft. Chinese discovered how to make silk three thousand years ago. They guarded the secret closely. No one in Europe knew how to make silk until the ninth century.
In conclusion, the Silk Road was a main trading route. They traded many things including religion. Also Silk was very important.
